SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – KSN-TV, an NBC affiliate in Wichita, Kan., recently highlighted Missouri’s StrikeForce Farmer Development Program, a joint effort of University of Missouri Extension, USDA and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Since 2016, the program has provided education and training to farmers in 46 Missouri counties. Participants range from Latino and military veteran beginning farmers interested in specialty crops to advanced farmers looking to diversify their operations, says Amy Patillo, field specialist in workforce development.
