The Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA) is looking for passionate individuals from across Missouri who want to be more involved in addressing local issues, improving their communities and neighborhoods, and grow their leadership skills.

In order to reach and connect people from across the state, NLA class provides engaging activities, thoughtful group discussions, guest presenters, case studies, videos, and other interactive elements. Regional cohorts serve to deepen the connections and support between class members in close proximity to each other. Hybrid classes are available online with in person, local MU Extension support and an opportunity for in-person learning for some of the course’s special, place-based topics.

NLA consists of 10 sessions held in the fall of each year, mid-September to November. Classes meet one evening a week.

For more information and to inquire about scholarship applications due in early August, please contact: Mistti Ritter, Jefferson County MU Extension Engagement Specialist and Community Development Field Specialist for more information at rittermm@missouri.edu or 636-797-5055.
