MU Extension Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City presents Gardeners Gathering-“NC Tomatoman’s All Tomato Overview.” Author, gardener, and educator Craig LeHoullier will share his latest thoughts on tomato growing in this hour-long Zoom talk. He will share his knowledge about planning which tomatoes to grow, important success factors, alternate ways of growing tomatoes, and seed saving. Craig will also discuss home tomato breeding and share the latest news from his Dwarf Tomato Breeding project. Bring your questions and desire to grow your best tomatoes.
Craig LeHoullier resides in North Carolina. He is a popular lecturer, plus a frequent guest on podcasts, and radio shows. He has named and popularized many well-known tomatoes varieties like Cherokee Purple and Lucky Cross. In 2005, Craig added amateur tomato breeding to his garden resume. He continues to co-lead the Dwarf Tomato Breeding project which is responsible for creating 145 (and counting) new compact growing varieties for space-challenged gardeners. Craig has also authored two books, Epic Tomatoes (2014) and Growing Vegetables in Straw Bales (2016.)
