Before two parties enter a lease, they need to discuss many details for which each party will be responsible. Each person needs to understand their own objectives and, hopefully, the objectives of the other. They also need to know the limits of each party. The value of a written lease contract is that it helps the property owner and prospective tenant think about, discuss and agree upon the essential elements of the leasing agreement.
University of Missouri Extension will be hosting a program covering the topics of Items In A Lease and Terminating A Lease.
Participants will leave with the knowledge of:
- The five essential components of a lease
- Importance of dates and times
- How to prevent problems
- Time and essentials of lease termination
- Landlord and tenant rights
This program is designed to educate both landowners and those leasing farm ground, but all are welcome to participate in an informal, participant-driven and learner-focused event. Take advantage of this learning and networking opportunity.
