This session is for child care educators and qualifies for 1 MOPD Hour. Fostering independence in young children builds self-esteem and self-confidence and helps to avoid over-reliance on adults. This training will focus on developmentally appropriate practice to help preschoolers develop independence in various areas including mealtime, hygiene, dressing independently, and helping with daily tasks and chores. This is part of a multi-session "Creating Preschool Learning Environments" Series on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The sessions in the series include: Creating Developmentally Appropriate Environments in Preschool Classrooms, I Can Do It! Supporting Independence in Preschoolers, and Infusing STEM Into the Preschool Classroom. It is recommended to register for all three sessions, but it is not required.
