Biosecurity Workshop to be offered at Springfield, IL, on February 10, 2025. The workshop will focus on "Preventing and Responding to Future Disease Outbreak". The speakers will include faculty from University of Missouri, Illinois Department of Agriculture, UIUC USDA APHIS, UIUC Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, and Mr. Gary Flory (Subject matter expert in composting).
Topics will include lessons learned from management of major animal disease cases, USDA’s role and resources, mortality management and preparation in advance, biosecurity trailer showing, disease identification and turnaround time, compost troubleshooting, and emergency management.
The project is funded by National Pork Board, collaborators include University of Missouri, Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois Pork Producer Association, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
