Linda GeistHILLSBORO, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension offers a one-night session in Hillsboro on June 13 to help landowners learn how to market timber.
Too many landowners sell their timber for only a fraction of its worth, says MU Extension horticulture specialist Debi Kelly.
“This evening session walks you through eight steps to ensure you get the highest price for your timber and leave with a healthy forest for future harvests and revenue,” Kelly says. “You also will learn about timber sale contracts, what best management practices should be part of your harvest plan and how to minimize your timber sale tax.”
The event runs 6:30-9 p.m. at the MU Extension Center in Jefferson County, 301 Third St., Hillsboro. For more information, contact Kelly at 636-797-5391 or KellyD@missouri.edu.
Kelly requests registration by June 11.
