JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension in Cole County and Central Missouri Master Gardeners will host a free daylong spring gardening seminar March 1 at Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City.
MU Extension field horticulturist Dhruba Dhakal says the seminar covers residential landscape design presented by Tim Moloney; fundamental plant pathology and disease diagnosis by Peng Tian, director of the MU Plant Diagnostic Clinic; and Tim Reinbott’s lessons learned from 20 years of the MU Tomato Festival in Columbia.
Participants will learn about flower production in central Missouri from commercial grower Amanda Keene. There also will be an integrated pest management session facilitated by Central Missouri Master Gardeners.
Two of the sessions count toward required advanced education hours for MU Extension’s Master Gardener program. The seminar begins at 9 a.m.
This is a free program, but registration is required. Register at http://muext.us/CCSGS2025 or call MU Extension in Cole County at 573-634-2824.
Participants need to bring their own lunch and beverage. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. For questions, contact Dhakal at dhakald@missouri.edu.
