Professional background
Dr. Adrienne Ohler’s work rests at the intersection of regulatory economics, energy and health policy, and externalities involving environmental and population health impacts. She provides data acquisition and data analysis support for Extension stakeholders (i.e. non-profits, state agencies, and academic institutes focused on outreach). Her work employs survey and secondary data analysis, and simulation modeling to examine the impact of policy changes and institutional structure on health, the environment, and economic outcomes. In her role, she collaborates and consults with a variety of organizations, including The Children’s Trust Fund, the Institute for Public Policy, FAPRI, the Financial Research Institute, and the Center for Health Policy. Dr. Ohler earned a Ph.D. in economics and M.S. in statistics from Washington State University, and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining the extension faculty at Missouri in 2022, she was an Associate Professor of Economics at Illinois State University, and Director of Outreach for the Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies.
