Areas of work

David Brune received his B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Engineering and PhD in Sanitary Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has served on the faculty at the University of California-Davis, Pennsylvania State University, Clemson University and most recently the University of Missouri-Columbia. Brune served as primary investigator in projects leading to patented systems for aquatic animal production, and Clemson’s patented processes, Partitioned Aquaculture System and Controlled Eutrophication Process. Brune has published more than 100 technical papers and has made more than 120 technical presentations at national and international symposia. As Professor of Bioprocess and Bioenergy Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Brune leads research and extension efforts targeting deployment of zero-discharge aquaculture system supporting environmentally friendly co-production of seafood and bioenergy.
