Professional background
Through 2017 through 2022, Samantha managed a multi-faceted caseload to develop an appropriate support plan for each client - personalizing it to meet their needs and goals. Samantha ensured compliance with state and federal safety, licensure, funding, and accreditation standards. Developing new programs or modifying existing programs to improve the quality of services delivered allowed for further individualization and adaptation to the needs of the individual. Samantha would authorize, coordinate, and monitor all services by providers to ensure services were delivered with a high level of quality. Ultimately, an integrated, holistic, community-based support system was utilized to support people of all ages and abilities. Prior to 2017, Samantha also worked as a paraprofessional in the school district, working on individualized plans for students with developmental disabilities and in a community rehabilitation center with adults who engaged in volunteer tasks within their community. Disability Justice is a continued passion for Samantha, as she works within MU Extension.
