Howell County
Households and businesses in southern Missouri affected by severe weather and flooding May 19-27 can apply for federal assistance. Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) is providing various types of assistance to homeowners, renters and self-employed business owners in Barry, Butler, Carter, Howell, New Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard and Texas counties. A few Disaster Recovery Centers have been set up to assist storm survivors.

The Missouri Century Farm program celebrates the lasting contributions farmers and ranchers have made to our country’s and state’s heritage by recognizing landowners with farms of at least 40 acres that have been in the family for 100 years or more.
